Richard Saussure is a private detective with a reputation for never leaving a job unfinished. Lord Hugh Hurlingthon, a member of a noble family, requests Saussure’s abilities to solve a deeply personal mystery: Hugh Hurlingthon is two hundred and thirteen years old and he can’t die. A painted flower, a druid in a glowing forest and a forgotten tomb in a forgotten cemetery, hold the key to make the wheel of life spin again.
Can Richard Saussure solve this case?
My hat is off to COS Productions. They managed to do one heck of a job with my book trailer. If you like it, please take a look at my website: http://www.RobertDowns.net. Once there, you can read the first chapter of my book, as well as find out more about me, or my main character, Casey Holden.
The Prophet of Vail Mountain, by Fred Williams Sellers, Jr. A novel of romance and intrigue. I would love to hear your thoughts on the trailer. You can follow me on Facebook and Twitter.
DEAD LOCKED: Great 5-star trailer, Amy. Fast-paced, exciting music, narrative that jumps out at you and visuals that tease. You crammed a lot of info in less than a minute. Well done!
Your title drew me in, Paul: Digger’s Bones. I love this type of novel – the Angels & Demonds, Indiana Jones, Relic kind of stuff. The graphics for your trailer are outstanding, enticing. Love the movement and the music. But, I didn’t feel you gave the reader enough of a tease. At least, not for me.
But then, I also understand the need to keep trailers short. Quite an undertaking. I’d give this one 4 stars – and I will be adding the book to my Goodreads list.
Honestly I tried to keep it mysterious and not give too much away, but perhaps I should have said a bit more in the video. Always hard to tell, not being a marketing geek.
Also, not sure what happened to the text that went with my entry…have to look into that.
Cool trailer, Stacy. Great premise (love the book’s title: Sink or Swim) and quality visuals. Not an over-abundance of narrative. The music fit the pace and genre, and the length is just enough to tease. Nice, nice job!
Thanks so much for watching, Sharon. It was trickier finding visuals for this video than for the first book trailer that I did, for Twenty-Five Years Ago Today, but I was glad to find some pictures that worked.
This is the video for my mystery novel Sink or Swim. How do you change the channel when reality TV turns to murder? After starring on a hit game show set aboard a Tall Ship, personal trainer Cassidy Novak discovers that she has attracted a stalker. Soon, she will need to call SOS for real…
When a shipwreck exploration turns into a modern day life or death treasure hunt, it’s up to Imogen Bell to decipher the clues and crack open a centuries-old mystery.
Fans of The Eagle has Landed and Foyle’s War will enjoy this book. It’s a sabotage thriller set in the early days of World War II. Two Abwehr agents are landed in Scotland by u-boat, their mission is to destroy a vital part of the British war machine. Although apparently foiled, did their plan ultimately succeed 32 years later in Hong Kong harbour?
Fans of James Patterson will enjoy this book. A serial rapist stalks the streets of Malahide, a genteel coastal town ten miles north of Dublin. The police have few leads, but then someone turns the table on the attacker by targeting his sister. Detective Sean Horan is faced with unravelling a very tangled web. A complex crime thriller set in post-boom Ireland.
In the style of Harlan Coben. When counterfeiter Steve Stricker leaves prison he discovers that his former partner-in-crime was murdered on the same day he was arrested by the Secret Service. His attempts to bring the killer to justice exposes a family torn apart by incest and political corruption. Steve shares what he knows with the Secret Service agent who arrested him, but can he be trusted?
Fans of Harlan Coben and James Patterson will enjoy this book. Val Bosanquet, a former New Orleans detective, is offered a job as Chief of a campus PD. A Haitian child killer he helped convict for the murder of her mother has just been enrolled at the university. Val stumbles across new evidence. Corporate corruption and Voodoo make for a volatile mix in the Deep South.
Piwko’s Proof
Harlan Coben and James Patterson fans will enjoy this book. When a FBI assistant-director is kidnapped, his captors demand the release of a death row inmate in return for his freedom. Only one man can assist the FBI’s nationwide hunt. An inmate of Angola, Jim Piwko has information which might save the abducted man’s life. But not everyone wants it known.

The police can’t stand watch over every household, so Bracco recruits his cousin Tommy to help track down this terrorist. Tommy, however, is in the Mafia. Oh yeah, it gets messy fast. As fast as you can turn the pages.
Great video trailer Gary! I like the idea behind the book, very fresh. The music suits it well, as does the pace. I’ll have to add this to my reading list- it looks like my kind of thriller.

Thanks, Toni. As I told Michael, I’ll lengthen a few of the trailer frames. It’s a trick getting them just right, isn’t it? But I’ve had great fun flexing those other creative muscles. Heck, until 3 weeks ago I didn’t even know my computer had a movie-maker. LOL.
Thanks, Michael. I will lengthen a few of the frames, particularly in the Mangroves trailer. BTW, I visited your website. Very, very nice. Clean and uncluttered. Easily navigated. I enjoyed it – and I love your book cover.
Exciting trailers, Toni, with Deadly Heritage and Gambling With the Enemy. Beautiful clips, great music choices, good length and timing. Just enough intrigue. Only one suggestion and that would be to change the color of the writing in the last bit of narrative for Gambling. The red was too hard to read so I totally missed that snippet. (Of course, it could just be these old eyes.) Nice job at stirring my interest. Thanks for allowing me to look. Wishing you lots of sales.
Thanks, Darcia. This whole video process has been an interesting challenge. And I thought writing was hard. LOL. I appreciate you having a look and leaving your comments.
Interesting video, Pat (More Deaths Than One). Great special effects, and the music adds an almost frenetic pace. The only drawback I saw – and this is, again, a preference thing – was the narrative’s purple lettering on the white background. The font seemed almost whimsical or glib on the light backdrop, and off kilter with the video’s darker tone and more dramatic visuals. You’ve established a great pace; even though the video is longer than 3 minutes – it didn’t seem long. Nice job. Thanks for allowing me a look and an opinion.
And here’s the trailer for Hoodoo Money, the original in my series for Draumr Publishing. Again, I hope I’m doing this right. It appears I did with Mangroves and Monsters. Thanks!
Hi Sharon,
The book trailer is great. The graphics are very fitting. My only thought is a few go so quickly you can’t read the text. Can you lengthen them? Other than that, great job! You’ve got me interested enough to grab a copy.
Michael
Sharon, I enjoyed your trailer. I like the quick pace. It offered just the right amount of tease to catch my interest. In fact, I’m going to add your book to my wish list now!
I wasn’t sure about your trailer when I noted the length, Michael, but Along Came a Fifer is skillfully done. Still a little long for my tastes (but that’s preference thing). The music is quite fitting, the blending of narrative and images artfully done. Great use of color. Love the line about reaching in a pocket and pulling out a murder. Very intriguing. Nice job. Thanks for allowing me to offer my opinion.
Hi Sharon,
Thanks for the insight on my trailer. You’re right, I think I got a bit carried away with the length. I’m going to edit it down. I just finished the second book in the series, so I’ll be making a trailer for that one.
Thanks,
Michael
I like this one too. Once again great music and images. I read relatively fast, but a few of the scenes still got away from me. I’m looking forward to reading the series.

Paul, if you send me the text, I’ll should be able to add it to the top of the video. (Is the video in the mystery section?)
